Developer Converts ARTEX AI Agent to Closed-Source After South Korean Bank Hacks

The Chinese developer of the ARTEX AI agent converted the project to closed-source following its misuse in cyberattacks against South Korean banks.

Cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike identified the tool's use by a suspect targeting at least nine South Korean financial institutions since late September.

The developer stated they opposed illegal software application and took down the GitHub repository without addressing specific regional attacks.
