BSE to Replace Wipro in Nifty 50 Index Effective September 30

The NSE will include BSE Ltd in the Nifty 50 index starting September 30, 2026, replacing IT services firm Wipro following a periodic review.

BSE qualified for inclusion with a 6-month average free-float market capitalization of ₹1,40,879 crore, meeting the requirement of being at least 1.5 times the size of Wipro.

The index rejig also includes the addition of 27 stocks to the Nifty 500 index, such as Vedanta Aluminium Metal, while excluding 27 others including Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail.
