Burnet and Webb middle schools in the Austin Independent School District have triggered mandatory state intervention after receiving their fifth consecutive F ratings from the Texas Education Agency.
While the district earned an overall B grade this year, it remains the only Texas district facing a potential state takeover due to the failing status of these two campuses.
Superintendent Matias Segura stated the district plans to appeal the ratings, with final accountability results expected to be released by the state in December.
