Telangana Shifts MeeSeva Platform from Oracle to Open-Source PostgreSQL

Telangana successfully migrated its citizen-services platform MeeSeva from Oracle to open-source PostgreSQL in April 2026, eliminating ₹10 crore in annual licensing fees.

Led by OpenSource DB CEO Hari P Kiran, the transition handled over 500 government services with less than four hours of total system downtime.

Using the open-source Ora2Pg tool for automated database conversion, the project successfully transitioned 85 microservices without any data loss.
