India has asked the US to ensure the safety of its citizens following the foiling of an alleged mass shooting plot at an Illinois Hindu temple.
The suspect, a teenager, reportedly harboured "anti-Indian and white supremacist" views and targeted the temple for two months.
The MEA described the alleged plot as a "racist, anti-Hindu attack" and called for thorough investigation and justice.
