The International Cricket Council has awarded India the hosting rights for the inaugural Women’s Champions Trophy scheduled for 2027, following the removal of Sri Lanka as the original host.
Sri Lanka lost the hosting rights for the tournament due to governance concerns raised by the ICC, necessitating a venue shift for the first-ever edition of this competition.
The tournament will feature top international women's cricket teams, with specific dates and venues for the 2027 event to be confirmed by the ICC in due course.
