Israeli Soldiers Walk Out of Base Over Disciplinary Dispute

Approximately 100 soldiers from the Givati Brigade's Tzabar Battalion walked out of the Sde Teiman military base in the Negev Desert on Wednesday following a dispute over battalion traditions.

The walkout occurred after the commander ordered the removal of signs that the military claimed humiliated new recruits, while soldiers argued the items represented unit history.

Commanders ordered the troops to return by 4 pm local time or face classification as absent without official leave, with reports indicating the battalion is currently disqualified from combat missions.
