Choudwar jail superintendent Sujit Kumar Roul was arrested on Sunday over allegations of forging official records following a high-profile prisoner escape.
The arrest followed the Orissa High Court's rejection of Roul's anticipatory bail plea after former jailer Santoshini Das accused him of tampering with logs to conceal his absence.
The case stems from the October 3 escape of two murder undertrials, Raja Sahani and Madhukant Kumar, who scaled the prison boundary wall.
