Karnataka home minister Priyank Kharge stated that informing the Home Department about planned Vijayadashami route marches does not constitute formal permission.
Kharge asked RSS units in Bengaluru to file applications in the prescribed format and wait for approval from competent authorities.
BJP spokesperson S Prakash cited a Madras High Court ruling allowing RSS route marches in Tamil Nadu and advised the minister to avoid embarrassment.
