Richie Mehta's Historical Drama 'Phoolan' Premieres at TIFF 2026

Filmmaker Richie Mehta returned with the Hindi-language historical crime drama Phoolan, which premiered in the Special Presentations programme at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.

The film focuses on a tense 48-hour siege in the life of Phoolan Devi, based on her autobiography titled I, Phoolan: The Autobiography of India’s Bandit Queen.

Sneha Kumari makes her screen debut portraying Phoolan in the film, which is scheduled to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
