Fridge-free tetanus-diphtheria vaccine shows promise in phase 1 trial

A phase 1 trial of the SPVX02 vaccine, developed by Stablepharma, demonstrated that a tetanus-diphtheria vaccine can remain stable without refrigeration for at least two years.

The study, involving 60 healthy adults, found that all participants achieved protective antibody levels 28 days after vaccination, with no serious adverse events reported.

The vaccine remained fully potent after three cycles of temperature fluctuations between -20°C and +40°C, potentially improving access in remote or conflict-affected regions.
