The FSSAI seized 18,000 boxes of Diageo-manufactured spirits, including Smirnoff and VAT 69, in Bengaluru due to missing mandatory food-grade PET markings.
The seized inventory, valued at approximately ₹15 crore, specifically targeted 180 ml bottles that failed to comply with national food safety labeling regulations.
Diageo is now required to rectify the packaging errors before the seized stock can be released, as regulators intensify scrutiny on alcohol packaging standards.
