Centre Cuts Basic Customs Duty On Crude Edible Oils Ahead Of Festivals

The central government reduced the Basic Customs Duty on crude sunflower oil from 10% to nil, and on crude soybean and palm oil to 5%.

The measure aims to moderate domestic retail prices and mitigate inflationary pressures caused by rising international edible oil costs.

An import duty differential of 19.25% between crude and refined oils is maintained to protect domestic refiners and processing capacity.
