Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated in a podcast that Israeli forces should kill 30 to 40 people in Gaza every night, regardless of whether they pose an immediate threat.
Ben-Gvir, who sits on the security cabinet, promised to support legislation allowing for the execution of Palestinian prisoners, telling a former captive he would do everything to make it happen.
The remarks come as Israel approaches elections on October 27, 2026, and follow reports that over 1,250 people have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire began in October 2023.
