Former UFC fighter and ex-Green Beret Tim Kennedy is in stable condition at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center after being shot three times in the leg during a September 17 ambush in Congo.
The 47-year-old was part of a private security team hired by Vectus Global to protect mining revenues and combat smuggling, and was evacuated via Burundi and South Africa.
The attack in Congo's eastern highlands left 20 people injured or killed, including former New Zealand special forces soldier Justin Conaglen.
