An Indian-flagged cargo vessel, MSV Faize Noore Oliya, capsized and sank off the Yemen coast after being struck by a projectile, according to Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal.
All 14 crew members on board, including 13 Indian nationals, were safely rescued following the incident, which occurred amidst a series of attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
The Ministry of External Affairs condemned the attack as deeply worrisome, while Yemen's transportation ministry attributed the strike to Iran-backed Houthi fighters using an explosives-laden boat.
