THE BRIEF
1

Birdwatchers and volunteers across Keralam have launched the Kerala Bird Atlas 2.0 to revisit survey cells and evaluate ecological changes over the last decade.

2

The first edition of the atlas, released in 2021 following surveys across 4,324 sub-cells, offered insights into the distribution of common and poorly monitored bird species.

3

Experts note that species distribution changes, such as the spread of peafowl, indicate transformations in the State's climate and environment.
