HDFC Bank CEO Sashidhar Jagdishan will step down at the end of his term next month following internal disputes over leadership and strategic direction.
Chairman Rajiv Kumar, appointed in June, had pushed for aggressive loan growth and executive changes, leading Jagdishan to decline a third term as CEO.
The bank plans to hire recruiter Egon Zehnder this week to find a successor, as the board seeks a more aggressive leader to improve the bank's financial performance.
