Samir Banerjee won his first professional singles title earlier this month by negotiating fast and uneven patchwork hard courts at an M25 Futures event in Solapur under the October sun.
The 23-year-old former junior Wimbledon champion and Stanford graduate struggled with elbow and wrist injuries after his 2021 junior triumph, dropping to 712 in the world rankings.
Following consistent recent performances, Banerjee has improved his ranking to 559 and aims to break into the top 400 by the end of the year to qualify for ATP Challenger events.
