India ranks among top nations for heatwave exposure in vulnerable groups

India ranked among the top countries with the highest heatwave exposure for infants and older adults, alongside China, the US, and Russia.

The findings were published in the tenth indicator report of the Lancet Countdown on Health and Climate Change, released on Tuesday.

Authors of the report called for climate change to be formally declared a global health emergency due to accelerating health harms.
