UP Teacher Booked for Branding 5-Year-Old With Hot Knife

Police in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, registered an FIR against a play school teacher for allegedly branding a five-year-old boy's private parts with a red-hot knife on July 24, 2026.

The incident occurred at Serene Sony Play School after the child urinated in his pants, with the teacher also accused of physically assaulting the boy and threatening him.

The child's parents alleged that school principal Hemlata Singh refused to cooperate and threatened them when they sought accountability, prompting the father to file a formal police complaint.
