OpenAI Pledges To Cover Full Electricity Costs For Future AI Data Centres

OpenAI announced it will pay the full cost of electricity and infrastructure required to support its future data centres following recent U.S. municipal restrictions.

The Sam Altman-led company also committed to soliciting community input, publishing construction plans, and refraining from using non-disclosure agreements with public officials.

OpenAI will develop water plans prioritizing closed-loop or low-water cooling systems and publicly disclose site-level utility consumption.
