Kalyan court acquits Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray in 2009 case

Joint Civil Judge Santosh H. Aage delivered the judgment on September 23, 2026, clearing the leaders under sections 171G, 500, and 501 of the Indian Penal Code.

The court ruled that the prosecution failed to prove charges beyond a reasonable doubt, noting eyewitnesses could not establish what was shown in the disputed video.
