Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presented appointment letters to 439 candidates for departments including Cooperation and Labour Welfare.
With this batch, total government appointments under the current administration's two terms have reached 1,65,749.
The Chief Minister noted that nearly 40 percent of the state's four lakh government employees are now below 40 years of age.
