Lockland High School Cancels Football Season Due to Low Participation

Lockland Local Schools in Ohio cancelled its 2026 football season after a meeting revealed fewer than 12 student-athletes were interested in participating.

Superintendent Bob Longworth confirmed the decision was made due to low roster numbers and safety concerns regarding potential injuries.

Under the new Student Athlete Mobility Act, affected students may petition the Ohio High School Athletic Association to play for neighboring districts like Reading, Norwood, or Finneytown.
