Soman Rana Wins Historic Para Shot Put Gold in Glasgow

Soman Rana secured India's first-ever gold medal in the men's F57 para shot put at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a season-best throw of 13.40m.

Compatriot Shubham Juyal claimed the silver medal with a throw of 13.28m, marking India's first-ever one-two podium finish in the discipline.

Both athletes, who are supported by the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), overcame significant injuries to represent India at the international event.
