Global Chess League Begins in Bengaluru

The fourth season of the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League commenced in Bengaluru on September 5, 2026, featuring elite players in a franchise-based mixed-gender format.

The tournament consists of a preliminary double round-robin stage followed by a final, with games played at a time control of 20 minutes plus a 2-second increment.

Each team fields six players, including an Icon player, two men, two women, and one junior player born in 2004 or later, competing through September 13.
