
Researchers at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali, developed light-driven nanobots that use near-infrared light to target and destroy breast cancer cells.
The nanobots are coated with folic acid to selectively bind to folate receptors on cancer cells and use a photosensitizer to generate reactive oxygen species.
The team demonstrated therapeutic efficacy in cell culture studies and breast tumor-bearing mice, offering a new method for localized, precision cancer treatment.
