Banned Teacher Applies for Reinstatement After Misconduct Case

Monday Ilenotuma, a former maths teacher at Bexleyheath Academy banned in 2023 for inappropriate conduct with pupils, applied for his prohibition order to be set aside.

The 2023 panel found Ilenotuma sent 400 messages to a student and invited her to his home to take drugs, leading to his initial ban.

A Teaching Regulation Agency panel held a hearing on August 10, 2026, to consider whether the 51-year-old should be permitted to return to the teaching profession.
