Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav criticised the Bihar and central governments on Sunday for lacking seriousness in handling the recent floods.
Yadav stated that over 48 lakh people are affected across 87 blocks in 15 districts, and claimed the state government withdrew ₹4,000 crore from the Contingency Fund in July for administrative expenses.
He demanded that the floods be declared a national disaster, and urged the Centre to provide financial assistance, compensation, and a special economic package for affected families.
