Spain and France select Oscar entries; Vatican submits first film

Spain selected 'La Bola Negra' and France picked 'Minotaur' as their official entries for the 2027 Oscars International Feature Film race.

Vatican City made history with its first-ever Academy Awards submission, entering the documentary short 'Green Lava' for consideration.

India also joined the competition by selecting the Marathi thriller 'Gondhal', directed by Santosh Davakhar, from a pool of 33 submissions.
