Boeing shares rose 2% after the Pentagon selected the company over Northrop Grumman to develop the U.S. Navy's next-generation F/A-XX Strike Fighter.
The full-scale development contract for the sixth-generation fighter program is valued at more than $20 billion, expanding Boeing's military manufacturing operations in St. Louis.
This award adds to Boeing's existing U.S. Air Force F-47 fighter contract secured in March 2025, consolidating its position in advanced military aircraft.
