Government Approves DRDO Missile Technology Transfer to Private Firms

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh approved the transfer of DRDO-developed technology for all conventional missile systems to private Indian companies to accelerate domestic production.

The initiative aims to end the monopoly of state-owned firms like Bharat Dynamics and expand the participation of MSMEs in the defence supply chain.

India has more than doubled its defence budget from $38 billion in 2014 to $86 billion in the current financial year, marking a 16% increase over the previous year.
