Chinese robot brain startup Spirit AI targets major software breakthrough by 2027

Chinese embodied AI startup Spirit AI predicts that humanoid robots will execute general-purpose physical tasks from verbal instructions following a major software milestone expected by mid-2027.

Backed by $670 million in funding and valued at $2.9 billion, the company currently deploys its Moz1 wheeled humanoids on industrial production lines for clients like CATL.

Co-founder Gao Yang noted that while robots achieve high success in structured environments, mastering delicate motor skills and safe human interaction remains an ongoing challenge.
