South Korea's media and telecommunications regulator fined Alphabet's Google and Apple a combined 63.7 billion won ($47.6 million) on Wednesday for abusing their app store market dominance.
Google was fined 42.9 billion won ($32 million) and Apple received a 20.8 billion won ($15.5 million) penalty for forcing local developers onto their proprietary payment systems and delaying app reviews.
The Korea Media and Communications Commission ordered both companies to allow South Korean developers to use external payment links and to improve their app review procedures.
