Meta to Share Child Safety Reports Directly With Indian Authorities

Meta Platforms Inc. announced on Tuesday that it will directly share child sexual abuse material reports with Indian law enforcement agencies.

Previously, Meta shared this information with the U.S.-based National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which forwarded India-specific reports to the National Crime Records Bureau.

The new reports will go directly to the Cyber crime portal managed by the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre under the Union Home Ministry.
