Apple Pay could launch in India by October, potentially bringing support for Unified Payments Interface alongside card-based transactions.
Axis Bank credit cards are expected to be supported initially, while discussions with HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank remain underway.
The service allows users to add tokenised card information and complete contactless payments authenticated through Face ID or Touch ID.
