Gaurav Gogoi urges S. Jaishankar to trace and repatriate two Assam women

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi urged External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to trace and repatriate two Assam women pushed across the border into Bangladesh.

Jahanara Begum and Mumtaz Begum were expelled despite the Gauhati High Court setting aside Foreigners Tribunal opinions declaring them non-citizens.

The High Court noted that state machinery deliberately delayed certified copies, preventing the women from challenging their expulsion orders.
