Varanasi Police Book Rahul Gandhi and MPs Over Ram Temple Skit

Varanasi police registered an FIR against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and MPs Pappu Yadav and Awadhesh Prasad for allegedly insulting Sanatan Dharma during a protest skit.

The FIR, filed at Kolwali police station under BNS sections 196, 299, 302, and 3(5), follows a complaint by seer Jagadguru Balak Das regarding a performance held on July 31, 2026.

The skit, performed at Parliament's Makar Dwar, depicted alleged donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Temple, prompting BJP leaders to demand further legal action against the participating Opposition members.
