Indian stock markets opened in the green, with the BSE Sensex rising by 400 points or 0.53% to 75,178.2 and the Nifty 50 rallying above 23,500.
The positive market opening was driven by information technology stocks surging 4.5% and a 3% rise in HDFC Bank shares following CEO nomination submissions to the RBI.
Broader small-caps and mid-caps remained little changed as gains were kept in check by higher oil prices and global bond yields ahead of the Federal Reserve meeting.
