U.S. President Donald Trump announced a sweeping rollback of federal rules limiting methane emissions from oil and gas operations during a rally in Lubbock, Texas.
Mr. Trump stated that terminating the regulations enacted by his predecessor Joe Biden would save energy producers and consumers $45 billion.
The changes include eliminating the 'Super Emitter Program,' weakening marginal well regulations, and relaxing rules around routine flaring of associated gas.
