Several students and activists from Krantikari Yuva Sangathan were briefly detained by Delhi Police on Tuesday after burning an effigy of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during Dussehra near Model Town.
The protesters gathered at Sangam Park with a 20-foot tall effigy and slogans demanding the CEC's removal to protest alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
A senior police officer stated that the protesters lacked permission and were demonstrating near a residential colony, though they were released within a few hours.
