Alexander Zverev defeated Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 in a three-hour-33-minute final to claim the US Open title in New York.
The victory marks Zverev's second major title of 2026 following his maiden Grand Slam win at Roland Garros earlier this summer.
Zverev became the first German man to win the New York hardcourt title since Boris Becker in 1989 and advanced to the top of the year-end world number one race.
