The Union Cabinet approved a ₹2,814 crore scheme to establish domestic processing facilities for lithium and nickel.
The five-year scheme aims to strengthen India's critical mineral ecosystem and reduce import dependence.
A capital subsidy of 30% will be provided for four processing plants, capped at ₹500 crore for lithium and ₹900 crore for nickel projects.
