Tamil Nadu Pilots 'Thai Manam' Initiative for Perinatal Mental Healthcare in Villupuram

Tamil Nadu is launching the 'Thai Manam' project to pilot mental health screening for pregnant women at the primary healthcare level.

Village Health Nurses and medical officers across four blocks in Villupuram district are undergoing specialized training under the collaborative scheme.

The project is implemented jointly by the Institute of Mental Health, the Indian Council of Medical Research-National Institute of Epidemiology, and the Directorate of Public Health.
