Dr. Sudhir Kumar, a neurologist at Apollo Hospitals in Hyderabad, advised on August 8 that individuals with diabetes should walk for 10 to 15 minutes immediately after meals.
The practice helps muscles absorb glucose from the bloodstream, which can reduce post-meal blood sugar spikes and improve insulin sensitivity without requiring intense gym sessions.
Dr. Kumar noted that three 10-minute walks daily help adults meet the recommended 210 minutes of weekly aerobic activity, though he cautioned against altering medication without professional medical guidance.
