Cherokee Nation Opens New Immersion Middle School

The Cherokee Nation is opening the School of the Seven Directions Cherokee Immersion Middle School on Monday, with classes scheduled to begin on August 27.

The 66,000-square-foot facility will serve fourth through eighth-grade students, while younger children remain at the Durbin Feeling Language Center.

The school features a curriculum conducted entirely in the Cherokee language, with no English used in signage or instruction throughout the campus.
