Tewolde Gebremariam Appointed as Air India CEO and MD

Air India announced the appointment of Tewolde Gebremariam as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, succeeding Campbell Wilson who resigned from the position in April 2026.

Chairman N. Chandrasekaran stated that the leadership transition marks a shift from the initial phase of stabilization and integration toward a critical era of execution and global expansion.

Gebremariam will lead the airline's next chapter, focusing on operational reliability, international connectivity, and strengthening India's position as a global aviation hub in line with national economic goals.
