Jordanian airstrikes in southern Syria killed more than 20 Islamic State militants on Monday in response to a deadly church attack in Jordan.
Syrian government officials reported that the strikes caused seven civilian deaths, including three children and a woman, and condemned the violation of sovereignty.
Damascus and Amman plan to establish a joint security committee to strengthen border security and prevent future cross-border militant incidents.
