Google Prepares to Test AI Chip in Low-Earth Orbit

Google is preparing to launch and test its proprietary AI chip in space under Project Suncatcher to evaluate machine learning infrastructure scalability in orbit.

The upcoming mission will assess hardware survival against cosmic rays and solar events, cooling processes, and satellite interconnectivity in low-Earth orbit.

Scheduled for an early test launch aboard SpaceX's Transporter-18 rideshare mission developed with Planet, the initiative targets a major milestone by 2027.
